So I’m sitting here thinking why Shakespeare made his works so deep-meaningy and twisted-languagey and old-wordey. And finally, it occurred to me that William might have had a bigger motive than creating good plays. Somehow he knew that his works would be studied centuries later, and he made them so complicated simply to make life difficult for US. So now he’s probably sitting in heaven watching us suffer.

Okay, so I might be a little bit biased, because I couldn’t finish the sonnet translation from Monday. But STILL….it’s a thought.
